Stat channels
Live numbers in your Discord sidebar
Turn a channel name into a counter: members, open tickets, tickets today, the wait time or your average rating. The bot keeps the name current, so the number is the first thing people see.
Your own wording
A stat channel is a name with placeholders, such as Members: %memberCount%. Write it in your language, add an emoji, or put two numbers in one name.
Numbers that matter for support
Open, unclaimed and claimed tickets, tickets opened and closed in the last 24 hours, the current wait time and the average rating. The member count is there too, for servers that want the classic counter.
Locked when the bot creates it
The bot can make a voice channel for each counter that everyone sees and nobody can join. A voice channel you already have works as well.
Within Discord's limits
Discord lets a bot rename a channel twice in ten minutes. Counters refresh every ten minutes at the most, and a name that has not changed is not written again.
- Set up in the dashboard, with a preview of the name before you save.
- With voice support on, the queue counts too: who is waiting and how many calls are running.
- Turning the module off leaves the names as they are.
- The plan sets how many stat channels a server can have.
Questions
- How often do the numbers update?
- Every ten minutes at the most, or less often if you set a longer interval. That is the limit Discord puts on renaming a channel.
- Do we need the ticket system for it?
- No. The member count works on its own, and the ticket numbers fill in once tickets are running.
- Can members join a stat channel?
- Not one the bot created: it is a voice channel nobody can join. A voice channel you pick yourself keeps the permissions you gave it.
